Most of the hand-knotted high quality Persian silk rugs are made in the city of Qum. The are very carefully and finely knotted. The entire foundation is made from pure silk – both the warp and weft are silk (sometimes only the warp).

Despite their shorter history, Qum Silk Persian rugs are now among the most popular of all Persianrugs, which is down tothe superior standard of craftsmanship and the rich variety of patterns.The artists and craftsmenadopted many of the beautiful designs and motifs from otherrugproducing regions and interpreted them with enormous skill.
