This beautiful Luke Jacomb Studio’s cast glass, wall mounted Tu is created using the “lost wax casting” technique. Each piece is handcrafted in Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand, by a team of talented craftspeople.
Taking more than 24 hours to complete, every piece is slightly unique, bearing testament to their handmade nature.

With 30 years of experience, Luke Jacomb remains at the forefront of studio glass blowing both in Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally. Inspired by his time training in North America and Europe, and aided by his late father, John Croucher, Jacomb draws inspiration from traditional Venetian and Danish techniques, masterfully combining them with elements of the South Pacific to craft a uniquely New Zealand perspective in glass.

Launched from a garage in Newton, Auckland (Aotearoa New Zealand) in 2008 byrenowned glass artist Luke Jacomb, Luke Jacomb Studio focuses on producing anaffordable range of handmade cast and blown glass art and homewares.

Belonging to the unique wattlebird family, the Teke can be found in both the North and South Islands of Aotearoa. Both species of Teke are critically endangered, with only approximately 650 South Island Teke currently in existence. Rescued from extinction in the 1960, the population is currently recovering under the careful care of the Department of Conservation.
