(Introduction) ‘The Herb Lubalin Study Center of Design and Typography was founded in 1985 by The Cooper Union and the friends, family, and admirers of Herb Lubalin (1918-1981). The Center houses an archive of Lubalin’s work, to which we will add selected works by other innovators of graphic communication. Our exhibitions, publications, and related projects aim to analyze contemporary design and issues in design history and theory.
