Milos Forman directs Jack Nicholson as the patient and Louise Fletcher as his cruel nurse to a trio of personal Oscars. The screenplay from Lawrence Hauben and Bo Goldman gets an Oscar and everyone gets the Best Picture Oscar. Critical and commercial success of this magnitude is a rare occurrence and Jack has every right to look ecstatic.
