Wonderful British artwork from Bill Wiggins, part of the Downton’s agency since 1951. Wiggin’s was able to paint magnificent works like these despite having a senior service cigarette seemingly glued to his lips. John Wayne and Lana Turner are the central attraction here in this early Warner Bros. film poster. The litho printing by Stafford & co. of Netherfield, Nottingham and London dates from 1955 and is of superb quality and brings out the many vivid colours including yellows, blues, pinks, ochres etc.- there are many shades of each colour. These early John Wayne British quads are almost impossible to find.
